Columbus Zoo – Military Family Free Days

Columbus Zoo offered Military Family Free days this year July 2nd-10th, and since we haven’t renewed our family membership since the Pandemic hit, we thought this would be a great chance to see how our youngest kids did with trips to the zoo. Brian and I are both Veterans, so it was nice knowing we were around more veterans than we usually get to interact with in our daily lives. Typically, while we had our Zoo memberships and decided to go to the zoo, it would be a spur-of-the-moment decision each time, so once the Zoo reopened after the pandemic and we had to start reserving times in advance to go to the zoo, we knew that wouldn’t be something that would work well for us. So we haven’t been to the zoo in a couple of years. I think we forgot how much we enjoyed going to the zoo!

There were a lot of new exhibits for us to explore! Stingray Bay was absolutely wonderful! I took videos of the kids on the day of our first trip trying to pet some stingrays. You can check it out by clicking the video below or you can click here to view the video on our YouTube channel.

If you visit our YouTube channel, please hit the subscribe button if you’d like to receive notifications when we upload new videos.

I also took a video of the kids trying to feed the stingrays yesterday. Like the previous video, you can check out the video by clicking the video below or you can click here to view the video on our YouTube Channel.

We also loved the Sea Lion exhibit! I would like to say that if we ever hit the lottery and win some serious money, we want to build a pool just like the Sea Lions have! Their habitat is absolutely beautiful! Naturally, I had to get at least one video of the Sea Lions. Like the previous videos, you can check out the video by clicking the video below or you can click here to view the video on our YouTube Channel.

One final video for today’s post! The Lorikeets were also super adorable! The youngest two were napping in the stroller with Brian while we went into the Lorikeet aviary. By now I think you all know the drill, you can check out the video by clicking the video below or you can click here to view the video on our YouTube Channel.

Lorikeets – Columbus Zoo – July 2, 2022

We took a ton of pictures, but it’s taking forever for them to upload (we kind of live out in the middle of nowhere, so our internet isn’t that great…) I’ll try to update the post later when I’m able to get those pictures uploaded.
